One of my favourite things to do is facilitate discussions about public policy. I got to do that at the end of 2020 with a collaborative of nonprofit organizations wanting to collect and share feedback on Nova Scotia's draft Traffic Safety Act.
I thought it was a great example of organizations coming together to provide information, as well as a platform for discussion. Together we hosted two virtual sessions open to anyone who was interested, and it was very rewarding to see the comments from over 150 participants reflected in the final recommendations submitted to the province.
Thanks to the Atlantic Active Alliance, Ecology Action Centre, Bicycle Nova Scotia, Halifax Cycling Coalition and Walk n Roll Halifax for the opportunity to work together.
You can check out the recommendations submitted by the Halifax Cycling Coalition online.
